A letter to my readers
My friends, subscribers and readers,
Your time is precious. You do me a great honor stopping by. I will repay your time and attentiveness with a promise to make your time here on the Block fulfilling, informative, and maybe even transformative.
99.9 percent of the time, I’m writing and blogging for you all, but today, that .1 percent is reserved for me to write to you all.
To be honest, if it wasn’t for the continuous support, clicks, likes and shares…I probably wouldn’t have followed through with this whole website blogging thing. I’m far from where I want to be, but knowing that you and others are constantly checking in on the site, gives me a great deal of accomplishment.
While there are very few acceptable reasons to get comfortable in journalism, I hit a rough patch the last quarter of 2017 and took my foot off the gas which is no excuse, but with 2018 being my bounce back and year of progression, I promise to work even harder and not just with content on the Writers Block, but on the multimedia journalism track as a whole.
I finished my first year with 2,327 site views, and in 2018, I’m looking to double…TRIPLE that.
From the Facebook and on-site debates, statistical analysis and opinionated rants, it’s TRULY been a pleasure. Without sports, there’s no passion, without YOU, the readers and subscribers…there’s no drive or dedication. I’m thankful for you all and I’m glad you all decided to become residents on The Block!
As always, new work coming soon and be sure to be on the lookout for a NEW site outside of sports featuring some of the greatest unknown eateries the state of Georgia has to offer. Spread the word!
Thanks for keeping the drive alive, as I am chasing something bigger than the industry itself.
Nigel “The Raconteur” Benson
